The book trailer is an odd beast. As an art form they didn't really exist until a couple of years ago. Now they're everywhere. But few, it has to be said, are any good.
But is there any reason why a book trailer shouldn't be crafted with the same creativity and innovation as their cinematic counterparts?
Well, no there isn't. Except, of course, that there is. And the reason is simple: money. Few publishers can afford to invest the kind of money out of their budgets that an advertising agency demands to make a quality book trailer. Rarer still is the individual author -- on whose shoulders the responsibility falls, 90% of the time - who can afford to spend that kind of money themselves.
Well screw that, frankly. It doesn't have to be that way. So I've started Trailermade Films, a little company that makes really good book trailers, with genuine style and flair, and high production values. Little films that sell a book without costing too much. Simple.
Trailermade will also cut trailers for feature films -- which is something I hope, with all due humility, that you've been able to see elsewhere on this site that I'm pretty good at.
So if you're interested, why not check it out by clicking on the logo below. The website has only just launched, but I hope it'll give you a good idea of what it is I want to achieve. If you've got a book or a low-budget film to sell, it might just turn out to be your next best-kept secret.
